For over 90 years Spooner has prided itself on being able to understand global foods and what is needed to ensure they are baked to perfection and in a consistent and controlled manner.
We are well known for supplying some of the most recognised food brands worldwide with equipment specifically designed and manufactured for baking biscuits, cakes, pies, cereals, ready meals, noodles, pet foods, as well as breads, buns and much more.
With the capability to bake such a wide variety of foods, our ovens vary drastically in regard to size, shape, burners and settings all so the perfect bake can be achieved, and customer circumstances are catered for. For example, we have previously designed, manufactured and installed an oven for crispbread baking. The 62m long electric oven was capable of baking 1,300kg of crispbread product every hour thanks to the 62 burners, capable of up to 500°C within the bake chamber. In addition to this, the oven featured unique pop-out doors due to the tight space restraints of where it was installed. The space restriction also meant the equipment had to be lifted into place, in sections, through the roof of the factory.

In comparison, the ovens we have supplied for Yorkshire pudding baking and another for Finnish Karelian pies have quite a different setup.

For the Karelian pie oven, one key requirement from the customer was that it had to have the flexibility to bake the pies as well as bread without too much manual intervention and adjustment.
The Yorkshire pudding oven had to be an indirect fired oven due to the oil content of the Yorkshire pudding mixture and fully stainless steel throughout the inside for caustic wash downs.
